Read Pastor Kumuyi’s Son's Apology Letter To Deeper Life Church Over His Wedding Controversies

June 15 in Jamaica, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor John Kumuyi's 2nd son got married.
And so many people criticized the way his wife was dressed, compared to other weddings held in the church.

In the wedding pictures, which were termed 'un-deeper life-stic',  the bride, who happens to be the
daughter of the National Overseer of DLBC in Jamaica, was seen putting on a wedding gown, ear rings, holding a bouquet and applied make-up — all of which are alien to the church’s doctrine.

However, the couple tendered a letter of apology to the church, and it was read to the congregation on Saturday during the church’s mid-year celebration programme and broadcast live to branches all over Nigeria and some parts of Africa via satellite.

The letter said they have “realized the effects of our actions and omission’’; adding that they may have been distracted by cultural differences, as both of them had lived overseas for many years.
John and Love Kumuyi write to express our deepest and most sincere apology for the turn of events, that have resulted on our traditional and wedding ceremonies,  that took place in Jamaica on 13th  June and 15th  June, 2013 respectively.
We unreservedly and wholeheartedly state that we did not intend that our acts or omissions will, in any way, undermine the great works that God has done through the Deeper Christian Life Ministry worldwide and  more specifically, through our Father in the Lord, the General Superintendent.
We also use this medium to profusely and sincerely apologise to the General Superintendent for the embarrassment and heartaches, our actions have caused him, more so that he has earlier declined to be at the events.
This, notwithstanding, we fully accept that having been nurtured, taught and brought up with the sound teaching of the word of God, we should have been  able to draw the line, which we failed to do.
We have now realised the effects of our actions and omission and do plead with the church for forgiveness and also appealing that any action that should be taken be directed at John and Love, as we take this time to prayerfully reflect on our actions.
We take full responsibility for what happened, and this action should, in no way, be blamed on the GS, or the leaders of the church in Nigeria, United States, Jamaica or United Kingdom and beyond.”

  4. Now the truth is out:

I am only wondering what will happen to the aproko friend that claimed to be present at the wedding and said that the pictures of the bride were altered.
Even went as far as to state that the bride had the following:
    No white-looking makeup or blush
    No earring
    No lipstick
    No fake eye lash
    No mascara
No relaxed hair (blow drier & flat iron can do that! by the way, her hair is that long)
    No colored eyebrow
    No eye shadow
    No ring on finger

Madam/ Oga "know know' what can you say for yourself now?
    ...GOD IS WATCHING...

    1. Lol, you're so detailed! This just goes to say looking good knows no religion!! Next time just be honest from the onset. If you laid down the rules and code of conduct for the church, be prepared to follow through with it, church members and general superintendent's son too!

  5. The bride and groom look beautiful. But its very wrong not to practise what you preach. The couple knew exactly what they were doing when they decided to go against the church's doctrine. I hope this is an eye opener to the members of deeper life church especially members in nigeria that your wedding day is a day to look beautiful both to God and man and that's what Pastor Kumuyi's son and his wife did. So be smart and don't be decieved. Remember you can wear earings, make up, hair extensions etc and still be Godly.

  6. The bride and groom knew what they were both doing as per the wedding ceremony. They shouldn't have deviated from their church doctrines, but God looks at the heart.
