The Nigerian Football Federation has denied reports Coach Stephen Keshi has resigned following their World Cup exit.
Nigeria went out of the World Cup tournament in Brazil at the round of 16 stage after a 2-0 defeat to France, after which Keshi said: “It's time for me to go back to my family and face fresh challenges."
That was widely interpreted as a sign he had quit.
However, when contacted by Goal on Tuesday, a NFF spokesman said:
There's news that a bomb blast has just occurred in Kaduna State, around the Asikolaye/Bakin Ruwa area along the Kaduna western bypass. The explosion was confirmed by a senior security official to SaharaReporters. Details of fatalities, casualties and other damage in the area are sketchy at this moment.
Over 50 people lost their lives today, while about 68 persons were seriously injured after the Maiduguri market bomb blast. Source of the blast has been identified as a Peugeot 505 saloon car carrying charcoal but laden with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) which exploded around the busy Elkanemi Roundabout, Monday Market.

An explosion has been reported in Borno State, at the Maiduguri market near the Power Holding Company (NEPA) building. And according to eyewitnesses, the explosion, from a van loaded with charcoal and IED, was heard at about 8:20 a.m. Many casualties may be recorded as the area is usually a crowded commercial centre.

Tragedy struck at the Onikolobo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday when a 33-year-old man, Oluwatosin Otaiku, stabbed himself to death after his fiancee, Olaogun Oluwatoyin, discontinued their relationship.
According to PUNCH Metro, Otaiku killed himself after his woman told him she was no longer interested in the relationship. After the girlfriend made a U-turn, the deceased was said to have become worried, and this made neighbours, who were aware of the development, intervene. Efforts were made to reconcile them.
