Miss Akwa Ibom, Iheoma Nnadi Wins MBGN 2014!

19-year-old Iheoma Nnadi representing Akwa Ibom State at the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant, has been crowned winner of the 2014 edition of the Silverbird Group organized show tonight.

Iheoma beat 29 other contestants to walk away with the coveted prize - N3million naira, a car and a shot to represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant coming up later this year.

Runners up are:

Miss Abuja (4th runner up),
Miss Osun (3rd runner up)
Miss Kwara (2nd runner up) - MBGN Tourism
Miss Edo (1st runner up) - MBGN Universe

Photo: NSCDC Arrests Men Caught with Corpse of 3-year-old Girl

The Abia State’s command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested two men, Chibuike Anibuife and Jonathan Nwogu, allegedly caught with a dead baby girl in a sack.

Punch reports that the state’s Commandant, Mr. Andy Dateer, said they were arrested by NSCDC men on patrol at Ariaria Junction, Osisioma near Aba. The suspects were intially intercepted by some residents who wanted to lynch them after the discovery of the corpse of the little girl, but the NSCDC whisked the suspects away to prevent them from being lynched by the mob.

World-renowned Aids researchers and activists heading to an international conference in Australia were on board the downed Malaysian jet, it has emerged. And news of their deaths has sparked an outpouring of grief across the global scientific community.

The Australian newspaper reports that up to 108 researchers were aboard the flight on their way to the southern Australian city of Melbourne to attend the 20th International Aids Conference, which starts on Sunday. The plane was scheduled to continue flying to the western Australian city of Perth after stopping in Kuala Lumpur.
