Boko Haram Releases Video that Shows Massacre of Prisoners

The rebel leader of Boko Haram made the statement during a horrifying video which shows soldiers shooting a group of prisoners on the floor
Earlier on today, I told you all about Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram's leader, declaring an Islamic caliphate in Gwoza town, a town seized by the extremist militants earlier this month. Abubakar had released a video today, obtained by AFP, in which he made the declaration. Turns out that Abubakar made the declaration alongside a footage of prisoners being shot while on the floor. The prisoners were told to lie in a ditch before assault rifles were aimed at their heads.

Abubakar had declared that Gwoza, in Borno State, now has 'nothing to do with Nigeria' and said 'by the grace of Allah' they will not be leaving the town. A claim DHQ has dismissed as empty. See photos from the video after the cut

Shots rang out at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood at around 1:30 AM today during a pre-VMAs party hosted by Chris Brown. According to eyewitnesses, Chris was the target of the shooting
but hiphop boss, Suge Knight ended up being shot and taken to the hospital by ambulance where he's currently in surgery.

Gwoza: Boko Haram’s Claim is Empty - DHQ

The Defence Headquarters has dismissed as empty, claims by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau that the sect had seized Gwoza from the Nigerian government.

In a statement just released, Defence spokesman, Major Gen. Chris Olukolade insisted that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country remained intact.
The statement said:
“The claim is empty. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nigerian state is still intact. Any group of terrorists laying claim to any portion of the country will not be allowed to get away with that expression of delusion and crime. Appropriate military operations to secure that area from the activities of the bandits are still ongoing”.

New Video: Boko Haram Declares Gwoza Town 'Islamic Caliphate'


Boko Haram has released a new video. And in it, Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, says he has created an Islamic caliphate in northeast Nigeria town, Gwoza town, seized by the insurgents earlier this month.

First WHO-deployed Health Worker Tests Positive for Ebola

A WHO-deployed health care worker has tested positive for Ebola; first time this has ever happened. The health worker, a man from Senegal, is in Sierra Leone and receiving care, the WHO said. No further details were given immediately. When asked how the worker contracted the virus, a WHO spokesperson said officials don't yet know all the details.

Ebola: Nigerian Doctors Call Off Strike

The Nigeria Medical Association has called off its over three-month old (65 days) strike action. Kayode Obembe, president Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) confirmed to journalists that the delegates decided to suspend the industrial action because of the outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.

He noted that their decision was influenced by the ongoing public health issues in the country, stating that all doctors are expected to report to work on Monday. Obembe noted that they also agreed that the Federal Government recall all suspended resident doctors without punitive measures.

35 Police Officers Missing after Borno Insurgent Attack
