Fellow Nigerians,

Obasanjo, IBB Congratulate Buhari, Ask Him to Fight Corruption

Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, have congratulated the Presidential candidate of the All progressives congress Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd,,) on his victory in the presidential poll.

And while Obasanjo charged Buhari to fight corruption and carry out reforms in different sectors, IBB said President Goodluck Jonathan lost to Buhari because Jonathan failed to meet the yearnings and aspiration of Nigeria’s citizens.

Obasanjo's congratulatory message which was made available to reporters at Abeokuta on Tuesday noted that so much harm had already been done to many national institutions, including the military, and however, advised him to be magnanimous in victory. He said:

A sex attacker who repeatedly raped a 13-year-old was jailed for 18 years today.

According to DailyMail, 42-year-old Ghanaian Alex Baah and also a father-of-three, paid the girl £2 after each assault, raped her at an address near Croydon and sent her perverted text messages.

The victim finally complained to police in August 2013 when she was aged 15. Jobless Baah denied touching the girl and claimed she had planted evidence and stole his mobile to send the messages. But the jury convicted him of five counts of rape committed between 2010 and 2013.

Judge Simon Farrell told the father-of-three his behaviour was ‘wicked'. He said:

Edo Declares Public Holiday to Celebrate Buhari’s Victory

Edo State Government has declared a work-free day in the state on Wednesday to celebrate the historic victory of General Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Peter Okhira  invited people of the state to a victory party which will hold at the Oba Ovoranmwen Square, Benin City starting from 3:00pm. Top artistes, including Davido, Patoranking, Osayomore Joseph, Young Bolivia, among others, will perform at the party.

The Peace Accord Committee has congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat and congratulating his opponent, the All Progressives Congress’s candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari Thanks Supporters, Preaches against Wild Celebrations

Ahead of his formal declaration as President elect, APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has expressed  gratitude to Nigerians for choosing him and his party over and above the PDP and their candidate, the incumbent President, Dr Jonathan Goodluck.

The APC declared victory party after Dr Jonathan called General Buhari at 5:15pm to make a concession and congratulate the winner. Director Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Garba Shehu quoted Buhari as saying that the mood of the country as well as its current state did not warrant the type of wild celebrations reportedly going on in some cities across the country.

Buhari said anybody happy with the victory of the APC in the presidential election will not be involved in the molestation of opponents or the destruction of their property.
“He or she is not with me, whoever does that,” Buhari curtly said.
He is due to make a major acceptance speech in the coming hours.

President Jonathan Congratulates Buhari

It has been reported that President Goodluck Jonathan has called his major challenger and the likely-winner of the 2015 presidential election, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC to congratulate him.

According to BBCHausa, the president spoke with Muhammadu Buhari on the phone and will address the country after rounding off his meeting with his cabinet. Meanwhile, Buhari is currently receiving well wishers at his private office in Abuja pending the official announcement of his imminent victory by INEC.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged Nigerians to accept the outcome of the Saturday presidential election in good faith, saying;

Nigerian Presidential Election Results so Far. APC Leading

The presidential election results for 26 states has so far been announced and right now, APC is still leading with 10,462,670 votes while PDP has 9,953,432 votes. The difference is 509,238 votes.

The election announcement will continue in about 30mins. They are on recess. We still have Sokoto, Borno, Zamfara, Kebbi, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Bauchi, Delta and Edo.

PDP Interrupts INEC Presidential Result Announcement

Elder Godswill Orubebe is currently staging a protest at the INEC result collation center alleging that Prof Jega has been compromised. According to him, Professor Jega has been selective, partial and is tribalistic.

He said APC had written a letter to INEC concerning an alleged rigging in Rivers state which he immediately sent a committee to investigate the issue but that when PDP wrote protest letters on the elections in Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa, Jega did not send anyone to attend to their protest.
