Kalief Browder, who Endured 3 years on Rikers Island without Trial, has Committed Suicide

A Bronx man who spent three years as a teen in Rikers Island enduring beatings by guards and inmates and long stints in solitary confinement without ever being convicted has committed suicide.

Kalief Browder, 21, used an air-conditioning cord to hang himself Saturday at his family’s Bronx home, according to the New Yorker magazine. It is reported that Browder told his mother the night before he took his life:
“Ma, I can’t take it anymore.”
Browder became a cause célèbre, garnering support from rapper Jay Z and talk-show host Rosie O’Donnell, after his torturous stint at Rikers was exposed. His case prompted Mayor de Blasio to

BREAKING: APC Reps Loyal to Dogara Shun Meeting with Osinbajo

The tussle over the leadership of Nigeria’s National Assembly is arguably the first storm in the tea cup of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Since last week when the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) resolved to conduct primaries to select its official candidates for the positions of Senate President and House of Representatives Speaker, the rancour has become public knowledge.

The party's primaries had produced Senator Ahmed Lawan and Senator George Akume as sole candidates for the positions of President and Deputy Senate President of the 8th Senate respectively.
Similarly, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila defeated Hon. Yakubu Dogara, polling 154 votes out of 182

''The Best Relationship of My Life Was With a Sex Addict''

Despite our brushes with unfaithfulness, STD scares and emotional drama, dating a sex addict was pretty awesome.
The first time I ever walked into a sex shop it was at the behest of my boyfriend, Greg. I remember meekly shuffling around the aisles with my eyes bulging out of my head in complete terror.
As a self-described prude who considers shower sex to hit the upper limit of my experimentation threshold, I didn’t understand how that could go there. No, thank you.
How had I, a straight-laced, missionary-loving individual ended up in a relationship where anonymous threesomes, online porn and sex toys had entered our standard

For All of You that Blasted Me over Davido - SEE THIS!

And I'm back from work and I have a mail from a reader to share. Mbok, read!:
Hi Laila, good morning.
How are you and the family especially the soldiers? Hope they are all good. I was reading some posts on your blog when I came across comments from readers criticizing you for not investigating what Davido graduated with before posting which got me upset.
Well, I was there at the convocation ceremony cos my cousin was also convocating. See attached the page of the programme of Davido's department ( and Laila trust me he was the ONLY STUDENT in that department). You can use that as proof then make it as an update on the post. Please hide my identity. Do have a lovely day.
Your TILB reader.
God will mightily bless you for this mail, my dearest Anonymous. I had written that Davido graduated with a Second Class Upper yesterday only for some oversabi people to fire back that how am I sure of that, that why didn't I just quote what Davido said - second class result. I hope you all can see I wasn't making it all up.
